PFLAG Modesto
Celebrating Real Family Values
Our Mission
The mission of PFLAG (Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) is to promote the health and well-being of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender persons, as well as their families and friends through support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and secure civil rights. PFLAG Modesto provides an opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.

PFLAG Modesto supports LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) people, their families and friends through our group meetings.  We educate families and provide public education on sexual orientation, gender identity and LGBT issues.  We also educate our community through a variety of local projects including the annual movie festival, presentations, and speakers.  PFLAG Modesto also advocates for equal rights for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender people.

Despite the name PFLAG Modesto, we work with people in Stanislaus, San Joaquin, and Tuolumne Counties, where there are no organized PFLAG chapters.

We welcome all people, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity.
